In Term 2, C3 are having a whale of a time. Our study topic for the term is 'Whales and Dolphins'. At the beginning of the term we had a brainstorm about what we could learn and some activities we could do. Wade suggested that we make a whale so that we could see how big they are. We got a plan off the internet and made the whale and thought it was so cool that we should let other people come and see it too. Then we thought "How about we have a Whale Expo so that we can teach other kids about whales and dolphins and all the stuff we're finding out about?" We thought that was a great idea so now we're busy getting organised for this expo which will happen in Week 9. This blog is going to show the jouney that we are on and will show lots of the learning that we are doing along the way.
In Room 8 at Bellevue School we have been reading stories about whales. We have been coming up with lots of questions so maybe you could share some ideas with us.

Hi C3.
ReplyDeleteI have just been reading about your Whale inquiry and can't believe you actually made a lifesize whale! I'd love to be able to come to your Whale Expo as I know very little about whales, and have often wondered what it would be like to spend a day with a whale! I shall watch this space.
Mrs B from Bellevue School
Mr Hanna will put some instructions on to our site to how to make a lifesize inflatable whale. TB
